Rob Gronkowski, who underwent a "successful" arthroscopic procedure to clean out the ankle he injured in the AFC Championship, is looking at a 10-week timetable for his recovery, the Boston Herald reports.

Impact:
Gronkowski, whose injury was a high ankle sprain, could be done with his rehab as early as late April, which would would give him plenty of time to be ready for the Patriots' organized team activities and minicamps. In any case, there is nothing to suggest that the tight end's ankle will be an issue heading into the coming season.

02.10.12

Rob Gronkowski underwent ankle surgery Friday, ESPN's Tony Softli reports.

Impact:
The procedure was reportedly successful in cleaning out the ankle, and the recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks. Gronkowski, who caught just two balls for 26 yards in the Super Bowl, should fine by the time training camp rolls around.

02.06.12

Rob Gronkowski, who was dealing with a high ankle sprain, caught two passes for 26 yards in Sunday's Super Bowl loss to the Giants.

Impact:
Heading into the offseason, Gronkowski acknowledged that he would continue to get treatment on his ankle, but noted that he won't need surgery. Though he was clearly hobbled in the Super Bowl -- arguably a key variable in the Patriots' loss -- Gronkowski was remarkable during the regular season, catching 90 passes for 1,327 yards, with 18 total touchdowns, 17 receiving, both NFL records for tight ends. As a result, he'll enter the 2012 season justifiably atop fantasy TE draft boards.

02.05.12

Rob Gronkowski (ankle) is active for Sunday's Super Bowl against the Giants, the Boston Globe reports.

Impact:
It remains to be seen if Gronkowski can make it through the game without a setback, but if he can, he figures to be a focal point in the New England passing game as he was all season, in particular in the red zone.

02.05.12

Rob Gronkowski (high ankle sprain) did not appear to be limping Saturday, the Boston Herald reports.

Impact:
It's fully expected that Gronkowski will be available for Sunday's Super Bowl, but how effective he will end up being will largely hinge on his ability to avoid any setbacks with his balky ankle.

02.03.12

Rob Gronkowski (high ankle sprain) is listed as questionable for Sunday's Super Bowl against the Giants after a limited practice Friday, Newsday's Tom Rock reports.

Impact:
Gronkowski is fully expected to be in the lineup Sunday, though it's similarly likely that he'll fall a fair distance short of 100 percent health.

02.02.12

Rob Gronkowski (high ankle sprain) practiced Thursday, Boston Herald writer Ian Rapoport reports.

Impact:
Gronkowski was expected to play in the Super Bowl all along, but this development makes the idea especially believable. He'll be active as long as he avoids setbacks.

02.02.12

Rob Gronkowski (high ankle sprain) could be a limited participant in practice Thursday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Impact:
Interestingly enough, Gronkowski made a point to say that he could miss practice all week and still play against the Giants in the Super Bowl on Sunday. For those in pools where lineups are picked from unused players each week, keep an eye on his status leading into kickoff as we'll have the official inactives list Sunday afternoon.

01.31.12

Rob Gronkowski (ankle) said Tuesday that he has taken his walking boot off for good, Ian R. Rapoport of the Boston Herald reports.

Impact:
This is a good sign, and now there's little doubt that Gronkowski will play in the Super Bowl. The question is how well he'll be able to move around come Sunday. It would be nice if he could make the practice field by the end of the week, but that's beginning to look unrealistic.

01.30.12

Rob Gronkowski (ankle) did not practice Monday, Boston Herald writer Ian Rapoport reports.

Impact:
Gronkowski's high ankle sprain could badly limit his practice availability this week, but he's still expected to play Sunday. He will more than likely be limited, however.

01.29.12

Rob Gronkowski (high ankle sprain) was still in a walking boot when getting off the team's plane Sunday, the Boston Globe reports.

Impact:
Obviously there isn't much that we can discern from someone disembarking from a plane that we won't be able to tell later in practice this week, but in the interest of getting as much information to you as possible, here you go.

01.27.12

The Patriots listed Rob Gronkowski (ankle) as questionable on Friday's injury report, according to ESPN.com.

Impact:
Gronkowski was the only Patriot not to practice Friday, however, there were 12 other players listed as questionable, so it is tough to determine his current health status. Still, with the Super Bowl being over a week away, it's hard to see him not playing next Sunday.

01.27.12

Rob Gronkowski's father said Rob has a high ankle sprain, the Boston Herald reports.

Impact:
Gronkowski will still play in the Super Bowl barring a setback, but this information confirms that he will be playing hurt.

01.26.12

Rob Gronkowski (ankle) did not practice Thursday, ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss reports.

Impact:
The Super Bowl isn't until Feb. 5, so Gronkowski has plenty of time to get ready. No one should be surprised if the Patriots keep him out of practice until the middle of next week.

01.23.12

Rob Gronkowski's injured left ankle will not prevent him from playing in Super Bowl XLVI, the Boston Herald reports.

Impact:
Gronkowski went to the locker room late in the third quarter of Sunday's AFC Championship Game after suffering the ankle injury. He was able to return to the field in the fourth quarter, so it would take a setback in practice to keep him out of the Super Bowl.

01.22.12

Impact:
Fantasy owners and Patriot fans across the nation can breathe a sigh of relief.

Rob Gronkowski limped to the locker room with an ankle injury towards the end of the third quarter of Sunday's game, the Boston Herald reports.

01.01.12

Rob Gronkowski had eight catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 49-21 win over the Bills.

Impact:
With that strong effort in Sunday's regular season finale, Gronkowski broke the NFL record for yards in a season by a tight end with 1,327. He also finishes the year with a fantasy-friendly 18 touchdowns (17 in the air) and looks like an excellent player to target in playoff pools on the heels of his spectacular season.

12.24.11

Rob Gronkowski caught seven passes for 78 yards in Saturday's win over the Dolphins.

Impact:
Not a bad output, but Gronkowski, who carried fantasy owners for much of the season with his frequent trips to the end zone, failed to score in either Week 15 or 16.

12.18.11

Rob Gronkowski caught four passes for 53 yards in Sunday's win over the Broncos.

Impact:
Gronkowski has carried fantasy teams for much of the season, but in Week 15, it was fellow TE Aaron Hernandez (9/129/1) who stole the show for the Patriots.
