Arron Afflalo (ankle/toe) is out for Monday's game against Houston, Nuggets.com reports.
Impact:
Afflalo is dealing with sprains to his left ankle and right big toe, so it sounds like he could be very iffy for Wednesday's game against Dallas.
Timofey Mozgov (ankle) will likely miss Denver's next three games, Denver Post writer Benjamin Hochman reports.
Impact:
Consider Mozgov day-to-day beyond Thursday's game against the Warriors.
Nene (heel) is out for Monday night's game against Houston, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact:
Nene is nursing a left heel strain and is considered day-to-day. Al Harrington will likely get the start at power forward in place of Nene.
Jarrett Jack (knee) is highly doubtful for Monday's game against Sacramento, Hornets play-by-play announcer Bob Licht reports.
Impact:
With Jack out look for Greivis Vasquez to get the start in his place. In his last five games Vasquez is averaging 13.1 points per game while also adding seven dimes per contest. If you are in need of point guard help Vasquez could be a good short-term option if Jack remains out longer.
Kevin Love was suspended two games for an incident where he stepped on Luis Scola's face in Saturday's win over Houston, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. He'll miss games Tuesday and Wednesday.
Impact:
Love maintained he stepped on Scola's face as an accident, but the league saw otherwise.
Jeremy Lin will start at point guard for the Knicks on Monday against the Jazz, the Bismarck Tribune reports.
Impact:
Lin has been playing well lately, scoring a career-high 25 points, making 10 of 19 field goals, Saturday. The Knicks are also desperately in need of a point guard. Lin will be needed even more Monday, as Stoudemire (personal) is out.
Jason Smith (concussion) is expected to miss Monday's game against the Kings, the Times-Picayune reports.
Impact:
Smith suffered the concussion Saturday after taking two separate blows to the head. With Carl Landry (knee) out as well, the Hornets could start Gustavo Ayon at power forward Monday.
Jared Jeffries will start Monday against the Jazz, New York Newsday reports.
Impact:
Jeffries will be filling in for Amar'e Stoudemire, who will miss Monday's game to mourn the death of his older brother, Hazell, who died in a car accident in Florida earlier Monday morning.
MarShon Brooks (toe) will be out until at least Feb. 12, the New York Daily News reports.
Impact:
Monday night's contest against the Bulls will mark the fifth-straight game Brooks has missed with the broken toe. With Morrow (personal) also out, Jordan Farmar and Keith Bogans should receive more minutes against the Bulls.
Chris Wilcox had 12 points in 12 minutes during the Celtics' win over the Grizzlies on Sunday.
Impact:
With Jermaine O'Neal and Kevin Garnett both in the waning years of their careers, Wilcox provides value off the bench, while also allowing the older starters to preserve themselves a bit more.
Kevin Garnett tied a season high with 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the Celtics' win over the Grizzlies on Sunday.
Impact:
KG may be a player on the slow decline, but he still has the occasional gem left in him, especially when his shot is falling. Garnett is shooting 55.8% from the field over his last three games, and has in fact made a three-pointer in each of his last three contests.
Amar'e Stoudemire will miss Monday night's game against the Jazz to mourn the death of his older brother, MSG Network's Alan Hahn reports.
Impact:
Stoudemire's older brother, Hazell, died in a car accident in Florida earlier Monday morning. Jared Jeffries is likely to get the start in place of Stoudemire on Monday.
Anthony Morrow will miss Monday's game against Chicago to attend his grandmother's funeral, the New York Daily News reports.
Impact:
This is unfortunate news for the Nets, as Morrow is coming off a career-high 42 points Friday. He is, however, expected to be back for Wednesday's game against the Pistons.
Mehmet Okur will undergo another procedure on his back, the New York Daily News reports.
Impact:
Okur has been suffering from back spasms since late-January. This will be his second procedure in the past two weeks. He will continue to be out for the immediate future. Shelden Williams is likely to start at center until Okur returns.
Marcus Morris was demoted to the D-League Sunday.
Impact:
He dominated it in the three games before he got hurt, and he'll have to do so again to get another call-up to the Rockets.
Marreese Speights only had four points on two-of-ten shooting to go with four rebounds in 18:20 against the Celtics on Sunday.
Impact:
Speights has made 16 consecutive starts at the four, but he has crossed the 20-minute mark in just one of his last eight games. Coach Lionel Hollins has increasingly turned to Dante Cunningham to fill out his front court, but it is not clear if Cunningham could threaten Speights' starting spot.
Tony Allen (hip/knee) said he should be a game-time decision for Monday's game against the Spurs, the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
Impact:
He was a late scratch from Sunday's loss to the Celtics after hiding a sore left hip for much of the past week. He had scored at least 17 points in each of his last three games leading up to Sunday's scratch, so he should be productive if he can eke into the lineup. Sam Young would probably receive another start if Allen can not go.
Lance Thomas signed a 10-day contract with the Hornets on Sunday, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Impact:
Thomas, who started the season with the club but was cut after the first two games, has been brought back to help fill the bench while Carl Landry (knee) is out for the next few weeks. He's unlikely to have much value with Chris Kaman expected to return to the team Monday.
Jerryd Bayless scored 17 points and made four three-pointers in Sunday's loss to the Heat.
Impact:
Bayless started for the fourth time in the past five games and has hit for double-digit scoring in five of the last six.
DeMar DeRozan scored a team-high 25 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field and 9-of-11 from the free-throw line in Toronto's loss to Miami on Sunday.
Impact:
DeRozan was productive early, scoring 16 points in the first half to keep the Raptors close. He's a high-volume shooter who shoots even more with Andrea Bargnani (calf) out.
